I would like to extend my appreciation to Rachael, the Director of nursing at Jersey Ridge Place. She has just been wonderful in dealing with my mom. I feel like I have an ally in that she can help me when it comes to convincing my mom what is best for her! She does this with kindness and great nursing abilities. Whenever I come to Rachael with a problem she deals with it immediately, efficiently and in a expert way. I am very happy with all the staff at Jersey Ridge Place.

Jersey Ridge Place has made a huge difference in my mom's life. She came there with intent to go back home after breaking her hip. They provided a fumished room for the first month which was great. She decided to stay because it is a small place that has great activities and daily exercise. She was fighting pnumonia when she came in and the nurse checked on her daily, was able to order a chest x-ray right there at the facility and worked with the doctor to make sure she got the right medicine to get her well. The staff are really nice and make you feel at home. She is the happiest that I've seen her in a long time.

In October, 2015, my 94 year-old mother,  Vera Carlin, moved into Jersey Ridge Place.  This move came after many years of refusal on her part to consider a move from her home in Blue Grass where she had lived all of her life.  My husband and I had moved back to the Quad Cities in 2013 to help oversee her medical care and observed her weakening physical condition during our first two years back here.  After a short period of part-time in-home care, it became apparent that my mom needed to be in a facility that allowed her to maintain a level of independence while providing a caring and structured environment.

Jersey Ridge Place turned out to be a blessing for my mom and our family.  After a brief adjustment period, she began taking part in the various activities offered by JRP.  She was a regular at the bingo tournaments and loved playing cards with the other residents.  She also enjoyed the musical performances and special holiday shows.  She admitted how happy and comfortable she was in her new home.  Sadly, she passed from this earth on June 18th.  While the family grieves her loss, we take a great comfort in knowing the level of care she received and are grateful for the wonderful staff members who made everyday an enjoyable one.   I wanted to express the appreciation on behalf of all the family for the loving and professional care our mom received at Jersey Ridge Place.
